Cybersecurity: The Security of the Future by  Amiya McChristian

Introduction:

Introduction: Cybersecurity is the protection of computer systems and networks from theft or damage. It is important because the basis of most all valuable information that we have is stored on some technology platform whether that be through a company, a flash drive, or personal computer or any other piece of technology.

Some Forms of Cyber Attacks

Phishing is the act of attempting to obtain sensitive information disguised as a trustworthy individual.

A Denial of Service attack takes place when an attacker floods the target with falsified traffic making it nearly impossible for real traffic to get through.

Malware attacks occur when malicious software is injected into a host with the intent to cause damage to that system.

Quotes

Getting hacked isn’t just a direct threat to the confidential data companies need. It can also ruin their relationships with customers, and even place them in significant legal jeopardy. With new technology, from self-driving cars to internet-enabled home security systems, the dangers of cybercrime become even more serious.-SNHU

Lifelong Implementation

It is important that not only security professionals are aware of how to navigate through safe computing, but that any individual that is presented with storing data on any device is aware of the risks and precautions necessary to keep the data secure.

Conclusions

This topic has only helped me see the importance of my studies here at PPCC. As a Cybersecurity major, this has helped me see how important the job field that I am going into is. I learned a lot from this project, and I am excited to begin my journey as a security professional in the months to come.
