Last week former reality star, Cardi B released her first studio debut album, Invasion of Privacy. The album is advancing quickly on Billboard, proving she’s truly “living her best life”.
The album features 12 songs, including her singles Bodak Yellow and Bartier Cardi, featuring 21 Savage.
From the pole to the Red Carpet, Cardi B was first introduced to the world on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Atlanta where she made a name for herself as the wild, outspoken stripper with a passion for music.
Post-VHI, she connected with the right people, and in 2017, Cardi B made her national debut in the rap industry with the release of Bodak Yellow, which quickly caught the attention of hip hop fans.
Becoming number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for weeks, Bodak Yellow also made history as the second solo album by a woman to hit number one since Lauryn Hill’s, Doo Wop.
With hype beats and catchy verses, similar to Bodak Yellow, the album speaks to the inner boss in everyone and serves as a great introduction for the rapper.
In addition to her singles, the album features an array of artists such as Migos and Chance the Rapper, and has diverse sounds, including I Like It, featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, which transports listeners to Latin America with the native sounds of trumpets similarly found in Raggaeton.
With a mixture of Spanish lyrics, the song is a perfect blend of the rappers AfroLatino heritage and the sounds of the streets.
Also, the album shows multiple sides of the rapper and songs such as, Be Careful featuring Sza and Ring featuring Kehlani introduces listeners to a softer side of the Bronx native.
The lyrics of Be Careful speak from an emotional side of Cardi and show that even powerful women experience infidelity and pain.
The song evokes emotions and takes listeners to feelings of heartbreak.
Although the feelings are strongly apparent, Cardi B reminds her fans why she’s a boss and warns her love interest of the consequences for betraying her.
A true Cinderella story, Invasion of Privacy showcases Cardi’s talent and tells the world that she is truly making money moves.
