Dining out is convenient but can be expensive, and busy students on a budget need fast, convenient meals without breaking the bank.
“I spend about $80 on an entire meal for two children and two adults,” says PPCC work-study, Susan Knight.
“Do you know how expensive it is to dine out with three children?” Says PPCC student Travis Hollingsworth. “Even if we all get $5 boxes, it adds up.”
In 2015, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that households spend an average of $3,008 per year on dining out, and some spend more.
“I never cook!” says Maria Luna, a student at PPCC’s Centennial Campus. “I have so much homework, I’d rather just buy something that’s ready to eat.”
Whether you have children or not, you can enjoy a meal away from home several days of the week on a student budget in Colorado Springs without draining your pockets.
