The Downtown Campus has no on-site coffee bar, but local coffee shops near campus offer varying vibes and experiences to please every coffee lover.
The Perk Downtown Coffee and Tea House at 14 South Tejon Street offers a food menu, daily coffee specials and a 20 percent student discount. There is plenty of room with two floors of tables and outdoor seating both upstairs and down. The vibe is cozy, conversational and feels like a more historic setting.
Loyal Coffee, next to Iron Bird Brewing Co. at 408 South Nevada Avenue offers Wi-Fi and an open space for patrons to sip and surf. Their menu is simple, offering toast and non-toast options like peanut butter banana and porridge.
Urban Steam, near the end of the street at 1025 South Sierra Madre Street offers a casual setting for coffee connoisseurs. They call themselves a “boutique coffee roaster” and “waffle and whiskey bar”. They offer Wi-Fi, daily specials and happy hour is from four to six every afternoon.
Story Coffee Co., on the edge of Acacia Park at 120 East Bijou Street, won Architectural Digest’s “Most Beautiful Coffee Shop in Colorado” award in January. The shop is in a tiny house and is moveable. The vibe is minimalist with good coffee and quick wit. They don’t have Wi-Fi and offer limited indoor and deck seating.
