Did you know there’s free food available at all of our campuses? Between the Community Table and monthly food markets, students, faculty and staff have access to healthy goods.  The community table always has offers or events coming up, and they provide more than just food to their students.  These hidden gems don’t always last though, especially when students don’t know they exist.

The Community Table works to accommodate those who struggle with food insecurity alongside Care and Share and the local Feeding America affiliate food bank.  Steve Grippo, who once ran the community table says that the program was “designed to help reduce the stigma of food insecurity, and it was open to all students, faculty and staff.”

The Mobile Food Market, too, works to reduce food insecurity. And the perfect chance to explore the food market would be now, since the markets here and open to volunteers.

The market runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. one day a month. Each month, they run between the 13th and 22nd.  Since the days aren’t clear, students need to stay alert for updates each month from student life.  The market runs in February, March, April (spring semester), September, October and November (fall semester) at the Rampart and Centennial Campuses. It strives to create an environment that gives students and faculty a chance to acquire food on their own terms.

If students have any further questions about the market or wish to help, they can reach individuals that are part of the community table/cabinet in room A312 at the Centennial Campus, S234 at the Downtown Campus, and S207 at the Rampart Range Campus.

Centennial is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while Downtown and Rampart are open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
