Every year the internet has been in our lives, people and aardvarks alike struggle to understand website design. College students do not have time to learn how certain websites work and all the quirks within it.
Due to recent years and changes, it has seemingly become harder for new (and returning) students to figure out how to get all the information needed to succeed. Thankfully, one student, Arnie, has come forth to help these students figure out the PPSC student portal.
This article is a collection and simplification of the guide he provided us. It is meant to help new and returning PPSC students succeed in navigating the portal.
Students can follow this guide step-by-step until they get used to the maze that is the PPSC student portal.
Spring 2024 registration starts on October 30th.
STEP ONE: Finding the portal
The first step is always the hardest for anyone who has no idea what they are getting into, and that’s okay.
- First go to pikespeak.edu, then go to the top right corner and select “MyPikesPeak Portal Login”
- Then log in with your Student ID, or S-Number, and password. If you do not know your password, contact the admin office.
STEP TWO: Oh lord, what am I looking at?
If you are overwhelmed at all the things on the screen, do not worry; you are not the first, nor will you be the last. The maze of buttons and terms that is the PPSC Student Portal can be navigated by starting small. Aarnie suggests the following:
- Navigate: the Navigate-Appointments/Plan/Add/Drop Classes button will be how you sign up for classes for the semester. You can also get in contact with advising to help you plan your schedule that fits your own personal life and you can even drop classes if they aren’t a good fit. So nifty!
2. MyCourses (D2L): The next button that will be crucial to your success is the MyCources (D2L) button. This button will send you to a new website that gives you access to every class you are taking in any given semester. Most professors will send notifications, updates and other things on their respective pages so make sure to check in daily.
