As we put away the swimsuits and sunscreen, Pikes Peak Community College welcomes everyone, old and new, to another semester of opportunity. To help kick off the first edition of The Paper, our Student Government Treasurer, Ty Upshaw, and Senator, Kimberly McCabe, shares some words to resonate with students throughout the PPCC community:

“To get back into a new school year, we would like to welcome students and staff. Whether it be Student Government or any other clubs here at Pikes Peak, we encourage students to engage with each other. We believe as students are actively involved in their college communities they experience higher success. As you explore your education, let your passion guide you and remember to have fun.”

For those of you unfamiliar with Student Government, it is an organization on campus whose primary focus is advocating for the students. For any questions or concerns regarding student life, Student Government is a place where you can find out where your dollars are going and find information on various resources. If you are a student and interested in having your voice heard or simply want to know what is going on around PPC, feel free to join a meeting. Meetings are held every Friday from 9 am- 12 pm at the Centennial campus in room C200.
