Calling all math enthusiasts, problem-solvers and anyone intrigued by the magic of numbers. PPSC’s annual Math Colloquium is just around the corner, and is open to all faculty, staff and students. This yearly event features guest speakers, student presentations and opportunities to engage with those in the field.

What’s in Store for You?
The agenda for this Math Colloquium is packed with exciting sessions to engage and inspire you:
12:00 PM – Opening Remarks from Bill Kuhn, PPSC Assistant Professor of Mathematics. He’ll set the tone for a day of mathematical exploration and inspiration.
12:05 PM – Keynote Speaker: Col. Joseph Southcott, former PPSC Dean of Mathematics and English, will share his insights in a talk titled, “Stop Asking and Just Get Excited!” Prepare to be captivated by his wisdom and passion for mathematics.
12:35 PM – Former Student Presentations and Engineering Insights
Dr. McKenna Lovejoy, PPSC Engineering Professor, along with former PPSC students Justin Cole and Jeremy Lee, will share their experiences and success stories. They’ll provide valuable information about engineering and internships, shedding light on where your mathematical skills can take you.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Student Presentation Breakout Sessions
This is your chance to explore various topics and projects presented by your fellow students. You’ll witness the incredible range of research and applications math can have in the real world.
3:05 PM – Kahoot! Quiz and Prize Giveaway
End the day on a high note with a fun Kahoot! math quiz. It’s not just for the presenters; all participants can join in the excitement. You might even win one of the top 5 prizes!
3:25 PM – Closing Remarks from Bill Kuhn
