The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the primary advocate for the needs of PPSC students. SGA seeks to better the student experience by communicating the needs and concerns of students to staff, faculty and administrators.
Twice a month, SGA holds joint session meetings open to members of the PPSC community at large. At these meetings, the community brings forward concerns and questions. SGA then works alongside college officials to make needed changes. All students are invited to come and have their voices heard.
SGA is composed of 17 roles, those being the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, SSAC representative, and 12 senators. Elections for these roles are held during the spring semester via an online ballot. The information about these elections will be sent to each student’s official school email.
Students are represented up to the state level through the State Student Advisory Council (SSAC). SSAC is an advocacy organization made up of 13 student representatives, one from each of the community colleges in the Colorado Community College System. SSAC works diligently to ensure student needs across Colorado are communicated to the board of education and educational lawmakers. Together, SGA and SSAC work together to represent the student body and their needs.
If there is an issue that SGA cannot resolve, students can reach out to the SSAC representative via email to communicate their concerns directly, or by visiting the SSAC official website listed below.
